Holiday Celebrations at the Anderson Museum of Art

The Anderson Museum of Art (AMOA) will celebrate the season with a lineup of festive events that will bring joy and magic to the community throughout December. From family-friendly activities to a chance to shop for unique gifts, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this holiday season.

Winterfest for First Friday – December 6, 2024 (5-8 p.m.)

Join us for Winterfest, AMOA’s celebration of First Friday, on December 6 from 5 to 8 p.m.! This festive day is filled with activities for all ages:

  • Hues of Happiness: Be among the first to experience our new Hues of Happiness exhibition, celebrating the life and legacy of beloved community member Marilyn Ault. This exhibition features a curated selection of artwork from AMOA’s permanent collection alongside pieces from the Aults’ personal collection, each chosen for its connection to Marilyn’s belief in the transformative power ofart to inspire peace, beauty, and joy.
  • Soroptimist International of Anderson Cookie Walk: Don’t miss the Soroptimist Cookie Walk,where you can pick up an assortment of homemade cookies for just $8 per dozen. Proceeds supportwomen’s educational awards in Madison County, a great cause this holiday season.
  • R.T.S. (A Reason to Shop): Our local marketplace is back! Find unique gifts from local vendorsat A.R.T.S. (A Reason to Shop) and visit the AMOA Shop for locally made art and crafts, perfect for holiday gifting.
  • Winterfest Fun: Enjoy complimentary refreshments, kids’ crafts, and special guests from DetourSalon & Style, who will add sparkle to your holiday season with winter hair tinsel.

 

Elf Art Studio: A Magical Holiday Experience for Kids – Starting December 7, 2024

The holiday magic continues on Saturday, December 7, when AMOA invites local kids to experience the ElfArt Studio! Children can take a magical hot-air balloon ride to the North Pole, where they will create holiday gifts and artwork with the help of Santa’s most creative elves. This enchanting workshop is the perfectway for kids to get into the spirit of the season.

The fun starts with the Talls, Smalls, and Disco Balls Party from 6 to 8 p.m. on December 7. For just $5 per person, kids can bring their favorite adult for an evening of dancing, games, refreshments, and the first chance to enter the Elf Art Studio. Tickets for the party are available now at andersonart.org/elf.

Following the party, the Elf Art Studio Experience will be open to the public with extended hours fromDecember 11 to December 28. Thanks to the Indiana Arts Commission, admission is free. The Elf Art Studio hours are as follows:

  • Dec. 13 | 12–5 p.m.
  • Dec. 14 | 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

Holiday Home Tour – December 7, 2024 (11 a.m- 4 p.m.)

Cap off your weekend with the second annual Holiday Home Tour on Saturday, December 7, from 11 a.m.to 5 p.m. Explore beautifully decorated homes throughout the local area and gather inspiration for your holiday decor.

Remember to stop by the Anderson Museum of Art during the tour. It will be open from 2 to 5
