MUNCIE, IN—Contractors Chad Ray and Jonathan Chambless, both seasoned professionals with projects across the nation, have launched CRU Construction. While the new company boasts national capabilities, its heart is rooted locally, with a mission to enhance the communities it serves.

CRU Construction aims to be a trusted partner in building and transforming communities, committed to delivering top-quality projects on time and within budget. Their focus is on integrity, excellence, and creating lasting opportunities for clients and neighborhoods alike.

Chambless and Ray, both Muncie natives, are raising their families in Delaware County and hold strong ties to the region. Chambless, a Shenandoah High School graduate, earned his Architecture degree from Ball State University and gained extensive experience working with Tom Ray Construction, Fuller Architecture Hardwoods, Indiana Kitchen Company, and TRU-Building as an estimator and project manager.

Ray, a graduate of Heritage Hall, attended Olivet Nazarene University and brings a diverse business background. His career includes time at PrimeTrust Federal Credit Union and working with Tom Ray Construction before launching his own construction firm, Ray Design Co., specializing in high-end residential remodels.

“While we’ve worked on projects nationwide, our goal with CRU is to make a meaningful impact on the community we care about most—right here in Muncie,” Chambless shared.

With their shared passion for construction and community, Ray and Chambless have founded CRU on the core values ofPartnership, Quality, and Community. They’ve cultivated strong local and national relationships based on trust and collaboration, allowing them to execute projects with precision.

“Construction has always been part of my life,” Ray noted. “There’s nothing more rewarding than turning someone’s vision into reality. With CRU, we’re fulfilling our own dreams by contributing to the hometown we love.”Chambless added, “Community is at the core of what we do. Every project we undertake has a measurable impact, and we aim to make a positive difference with each one.”

CRU partnered with Muncie-based marketing agency Intersection to develop their brand and launch their website, www.buildwithcru.com.
