DALEVILLE, IN— AutoFarm Ambulance and High Ground Conversions (a division of Bontrager Industries) have announced the unveiling of their newly co-developed Type II ambulance at the EMS World Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. Combining AutoFarm’s expertise as one of the leading ambulance dealers in the U.S. with Bontrager Industries’ legacy in specialty vehicle manufacturing, the new Type II ambulance promises to set new standards for safety, reliability, and quality.
As one of the largest EMS-only events, the EMS World Expo drew over 6,000 attendees, providing the ideal platform for the vehicle’s introduction. AutoFarm Ambulance, known for delivering high-quality emergency vehicles nationwide, partnered with Bontrager Industries, whose multi-generational history in vehicle manufacturing adds a significant edge to the product.
“We are really David vs. Goliath when it comes to ambulance manufacturing and sales, since there are several massive consolidators of ambulance manufacturers,” said Jim Kissling, President of AutoFarm Ambulance. “But we are confident that we have come to this unveiling with a superior product at an amazing value. While this has not been an easy process, it’s comforting to know that David won the battle.”
The collaboration stems from a long-standing connection between Kissling and Jason Bontrager, CEO of Bontrager Industries. The two were fraternity brothers at Butler University, and after AutoFarm experienced production shortages with its previous suppliers, Bontrager’s expertise in specialty vehicle manufacturing made for a natural partnership.
“Bontrager Industries strives to take the high ground when designing and building any of our products,” said Bontrager. “Our expansion into the rescue vehicle industry allows us to showcase the highest levels of design and manufacturing standards of which we are capable. Building large-format, high-quality products is our passion. We are excited about the collaboration with AutoFarm and to be a part of this (ad)venture.”
